Our self-paced program of study allows the student to work through the course material at their own pace. KDS employs a learning management system platform utilized by many leading seminary institutions around the world. This technology platform provides the ability to view course material as well as offer the option to interact and engage other students on theological concepts.
The KDS curriculum offers the disciple of Jesus Christ an opportunity to grow and mature through courses of study in the following areas:
- Old Testament
- New Testament
- Theology
- Current Studies
- Practical Studies
- Asbury Theological Seminary Continuing Education
- Coming Soon: Online Biblical Greek and Hebrew
KDS courses are taught by respected leaders and theologians in ministry and seminary institutions, many holding Ph.D. degrees. Teacher biographies are accessible from the course information page for review prior to entering the course.
The KDS program is accessible and affordable. Designed for the student with a busy schedule- KDS is education in motion! Sometimes the hardest part in training is to meet the demands of a schedule to meet for class. KDS students will enjoy the flexibility to access coursework any time of the day. They can view the material on their own schedule, as well as post and reply to forum discussions when time allows from anywhere in the world. KDS is also very affordable. While seminaries charge close to $40 per hour for lecture content, KDS is offering content at just $5 for each course segment. Each course segment will be 30 – 90 minutes long and the student can pay either individually or as a complete course and for viewing via streaming video. Courses marked "Complete" are between 3 to 12 hours in length and broken up into 1 hour or so segments depending on the subject matter. The student will find some courses to be very in-depth and challenging and others more basic with overviews and surveys of major parts of the Bible and Theology. Students who choose to enroll in the courses offered from Asbury Theological Seminary will find that they comprise between 25-30 hours of content for each area of discipline. Upon completion the student is eligible for continuing education credits from Asbury through KDS.
Our Kingdom discipleship communities are located at www.kdcommunities.org and are designed to support the local pastor in leading Scripture studies in and through their local church. The KDcommunities platform provides custom designed Scripture study programs that are media enabled and forum discussion driven. These courses provide the flexibility of the students to engage the material at their own pace, but within certain parameters requested of the pastor. Students may find it easier to enter into accountability with other members of their church as they study the Word of God.
This program is designed for a variety of Christians—from new believers to mature Christians who want to be challenged and equipped in life and ministry. Our Course List page is an example of the overall structure of the program. Over the next few months, KDS will be adding and expanding in all the course areas. We will also be rolling out certificates of study for the KDS courses in areas of Christian Discipleship, Christian Ministry, and Biblical Studies and Theology. Please keep checking back with us to see how your courses will fit into these certificates of study.
